Your lips need to be pampered just as much as any other part of the body. We don’t only have to worry about them being chapped in the winter, but the sun does some damage to them as well. While at the beach I obsessed over protecting my skin from the sun and didn’t give much thought to my lips. Later in the day I paid the price for my mistake. My lips felt a little sunburned and I had to constantly apply lip balm to ease the discomfort. Thanks to a little routine I followed for the next couple of days they felt extra smooth soon after.
Every night I exfoliated my lips. You can use any lip exfoliator. I love how Kiss Me Exfoliating Lip Scrub from Philosophy works. You just leave it on for up to 3 minutes and wah-lah smooth lips.
My favorite chap stick is Burt’s Bees, but “desperate measure calls for desperate actions”. I opted for a second balm on top of that one. I started using C.O. BIGELOW’s Rose Salve and I love it.
I must sound like the most undecided person, but hopefully you will all be happy to hear this: I’M BACK. After thinking about it, I’ve decided to keep my blog here. Stay on the look out for new posts to come very, very soon.
Your makeup brushes are your tools. They wear out, and they build bacteria. It’s important to keep them clean, even if you’re the only one using your own brushes. Cleaning your brushes can help protect your face from bacteria, impurities, and future break outs.
I currently use Sephora’s Purifying Shampoo to clean my makeup brushes. I clean them every 2 weeks because I’m so busy, but since I use the brushes so much I think they should be cleaned weekly.
Sephora also sells a daily cleaner for the brushes. It doesn’t really matter what brand of brush cleaner you choose. If you don’t want to spend so much money, you can also buy baby shampoo and clean them with that. You brushes are delicate, and baby shampoo is gentle enough to clean them.
How to clean the brushes:
1. Never let the water run directly over the brushes. Instead just pour water over the brushes. Pour the shampoo/cleaner on the brushes and squeez the makeup out of them.
2. After cleaning them, lay the brushes on a flat surface to air dry. Don’t lay them on a towel.
It’s really easy to clean your brushes, and it will help make them last longer.
So you’re about to be late to work or class and you have absolutely no time for anything. Here’s the quickie that will make you look cute regardless:
Grab an eyelash curler, clamp those lashes and your eyes will instantly look wider. Don’t forget to apply mascara afterwards to keep the look.
Then just put on some bronzer or blush (which ever you prefer), some lip gloss, and you’re good to go.
Make Up For Ever is a great line of makeup. I hate when I have a long day ahead of me, and no time to touch up my makeup. Make up For Ever really lasts on your skin and it looks beautiful.

Foundation can be tricky to choose. There are so many different ones to choose from. Sometimes you have to try a couple different ones and see what works best with your skin.
Mineral and Powder foundation are great because they aren’t as messy. They’re easier to manage. They are good also for those of us with combination or oily skin. If you have oily skin look for words on the label of the foundation like, “mattefying” and “oil free”.
Let’s not forget about liquid foundation. If you have a photo shoot or an even coming up, that you know you will take a ton of pictures at, try a liquid foundation. Your skin will come out looking great in the pictures. I guess you can say liquid foundation is the photogenic one of the bunch. If you have dry skin try a liquid foundation.
Cream based foundations are another option. They’re usually creamy in the powder, but once you apply it on the face you get a powdery finish. Any skin type can use this. Cream based foundations can also be usead as concealers.
I decided to give the foe tan a try and guess what? It works =). I was walking through the beauty ailes at Target when I came across the Jergens tanning moisturizer. They had a 2 for one deal going on. It was the body lotion along with the face moisturizers for the price of one. With nothing to lose and a tan to gain, I chose to try it out.
I chose the Jergens Natural Glow Express, because I love instant gratification and it said on the bottle that in 3 days I would start to see a color change. It’s the third day and I’m actually seeing some color. I’m Tan =). The lotion really works. You guys have to try it. Just make sure to wash your hands really well after applying and let it dry for a few seconds before putting any clothes on.
